Area Beaches

At times peaceful, at times the wave crashing loudly to shore, but always a pristine refuge from the everyday stresses of life. Whether you want to stroll, make sand castles, look for Petoskey stones, or take a refreshing dip, you'll find a beach to lose yourself on in Boyne Country. 

State Park Beaches
At each of five state parks (Petoskey, Wilderness, Young, Fisherman's Island, Burt Lake) located within the area. All but Burt Lake also have hiking trails. Small to medium size dunes at Petoskey State Park. Daily park entrance fees apply. 
 

Boyne City Area

Boyne City Beach, Boyne City
On Lake Charlevoix, downtown. Good spot for boat watching, too. Restrooms.

Young State Park
Young State Park is located at the east end of beautiful Lake Charlevoix.

Tannery Beach, Boyne City
Nice beach that's dog friendly to boot!

Charlevoix Area

Depot Beach, Charlevoix
On Lake Charlevoix, downtown Charlevoix. Lifeguard patrolled seasonally. Restrooms. Wonderful for youngsters.


Ferry Avenue Beach, Charlevoix
On Lake Charlevoix, downtown. Lifeguard attended seasonally. Restrooms.

Fisherman's Island State Park (Bell's Bay)
Fisherman's Island State Park is not actually an island, but a 2,678-acre park with five miles of unspoiled Lake Michigan shoreline.

Lake Michigan Beach, Charlevoix
In Charlevoix on Lake Michigan. Lifeguard attended seasonally. Close to town and ice cream, too!


Mt. McSauba Beach, Charlevoix
On Lake Michigan. Sand dunes and wildlife sanctuary. Peaceful retreat for grown-ups.

Harbor Springs Area

Thorne Swift Nature Preserve, Harbor Springs
Lovely, pristine beach on Lower Shore Drive. $2.00 parking fee per vehicle. Hiking trails, too. 
 
Zoll Street Beach, Harbor Springs
On Little Traverse Bay, downtown. Small beach, but very clean. Feel free to bring your leashed pet. 
 
Zorn Park, Harbor Springs
On Little Traverse Bay, downtown. Artesian springs mean this water's COLD! Life guard patrolled seasonally. Restrooms. 

Petoskey Area

Magnus City Park Beach, Petoskey
On Little Traverse Bay - great place to find Petoskey Stones! Restrooms.

Petoskey State Park

West Park Beach, Bay Harbor
Very rocky beach accessible only by hiking trail. The peace and views are well worth the trek.

Bliss, Cross Village & Good Hart Area

On Lake Michigan, north of Cross Village.

Cross Village Beach , Cross Village
On Lake Michigan, off M-119, north of Harbor Springs. 
  
Goodhart Beach. Goodhart
On Lake Michigan at Goodhart, off M-119, north of Harbor Springs. 
  
Readmond Township Beach, Good Hart
On Lake Michigan at Good Hart, off M-119 - north of Harbor Springs.

Walloon Lake Area

Walloon Lake Beach, Walloon Lake Village
On Walloon Lake, off M-75. Restrooms and playground across the road.
